Responsibilities:
- You will develop advanced web based applications
- You will perform usability testing on interfaces and web applications
- You will contribute technical leadership to the engineering team, including best practices and processes that enable the team to continually improve productivity and quality of products delivery
- You will contribute directly to the product roadmap and growth of the company
- You will be working with a Mac OS within the Eclipse development platform (We are a non-Wndows shop)
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years minimum coding experience
- 2-3 years in LAMP (with focus on PHP/MySQL)
- Must be an expert in PHP / JavaScript / CSS / MySQL / AJAX
- Must have object-oriented design skills
- Excellent PHP coding skills. Great ability to develop defensive and bulletproof code.
- Strong problem solving / analytical skills. You will be working with a highly qualified team and you must be able to keep up with our pace and help increase it.
- Should have excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Should have start-up experience at a fast-growing consumer web company
Special consideration given to candidates who have:
- Server setup & support experience
- Experience scaling and supporting large LAMP applications
- Have BS in Computer Science of equivalent
- Experience developing Facebook / Google applications
- Experience developing software under a PHP framework such as Zend.
- Strong practical knowledge of web application security
- Created highly usable user interface/experience for complex web applications
- Any SEO knowledge (to help guide other engineers)
The ideal candidate for this position will possess a relevant Diploma / Degree or a combination of practical work experience and education. This is a full-time position for our Halifax office. - 2 years experience in the operation of LAN and WAN environment

- Demonstrated proficiency with CentOS, OSX, Windows Server 2003
- Expert networking knowledge and network security.
- The ability to multi-task and respond to changing priorities
- Must be detail oriented
- Patient and possesses good interpersonal and communication skills
- Expert knowledge of how the most commonly used email clients are configured
- Excellent written/oral communication skills
- Demonstrates leadership skills with emphasis on decision making, problem solving, and communications skills
- Troubleshooting hardware/software issues relating to a wide degree of projects
- Must be able to take on after hour support duties
- Valid drivers license and vehicle
